Celebrating Together: A Year of Impact with BINHI

As we welcome 2026, we take a moment to look back with pride and gratitude at what the BINHI Reading Warriors community has achieved together. While 2025 has come to a close, our mission–to reach more schools and nurture more young readers–continues stronger than ever.

BINHI’s vision is bold and clear: to ensure basic literacy among BINHI scholars in at least 50 NCR public schools by 2035, through the full implementation of Kits 0 to 2. Each year brings us closer to that goal–and 2025 was another step forward towards fighting illiteracy.

Thanks to the grit of our BINHI teachers, generosity of our donors, and the passion of our volunteers, we supported more students this year than ever before. In 2025, we welcomed 1,000 new BINHI scholars, bringing our total impact to 7,375 children. Beyond the numbers, we are seeing remarkable gains in mid-test assessment—clear evidence that when we unite, we provide the tools to transform struggling students into lifelong readers. Every child’s progress is a victory for our entire community.

Central to this success is the growth of our BINHI teachers, who remain the heartbeat of our literacy programs. This past year, our BINHI teachers successfully completed four intensive training sessions strictly aligned with the Science of Reading, ensuring our curriculum is rooted in proven linguistic research. These milestones were capped off with a joyful year-end celebration at De La Salle University, honoring their hard work and perseverance. Beyond formal workshops, we have enriched our school communities through professional learning hubs. In these online spaces, development is a collaborative effort, with some sessions led by the teachers themselves. This “teachers-helping-teachers” model ensures that expertise is shared and that every educator has access to a supportive, continuous learning environment.

Our progress was made possible by the support of our corporate and foundation sponsors. We extend our deepest gratitude to the ICTSI Foundation, Inc., Jesus V. Del Rosario Foundation, Inc., Light Rail Manila Corporation, RATP Dev Manila, Happy2Help, and Rockwell Land Corporation, as well as our many individual donors.

We also recognize that a child cannot learn on an empty stomach; for the second year running, Jesus V. Del Rosario Foundation, Inc., Assisi Development Foundation, Inc, Century Pacific Group-RSPo Foundation, and Scholars of Sustenance continued providing nourishment for our BINHI Scholars to supplement their learning.

Our mission was further strengthened by groups like De La Salle University, AXA Philippines, Canva Foundation, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Shop Philippines, Cognizant Philippines, Asia Brewery, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Unilab Foundation, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, AzRalph fandom, and National Youth Volunteers Commission, who contributed their time and resources through outreach and donations.

The circle of BINHI Reading Warriors continues to grow. In 2025, 434 new and returning volunteers joined our activities, standing shoulder-to-shoulder to enhance literacy among Filipino children. From preparing learning kits to facilitating testing, assisting BINHI classes, to tutoring BINHI Scholars, every act of service–big or small–has made a difference. We also recognize our institutional partners, iVolunteer Philippines and TheOneHourProject, for their vital role in mobilizing this force for good.

As we look ahead to 2026, we invite you to keep marching with us. Together, as BINHI Reading Warriors, let’s continue our mission–to make every Filipino child read well.
